American Idol: Thursday Shocker

This season’s first American Idol shocker happened last night when Ryan Seacrest announced Michael Johns had the lowest amount of votes. This was his first time in the bottom three contestants. Not to mention Tivo predicted the one to get booted off this week would be Syesha Mercado, Hope nobody placed bets in Las Vegas on that prediction.
“I’m going to miss you,” judge Simon Cowell told the visibly shaken Johns. “You’re a very, very good singer and a very, very nice guy.”
Over 31 million votes were cast this week, the season’s highest so far.
On Tuesday, Johns performed Aerosmith’s “Dream On” to mixed reactions from the judges. Paula Abdul called it “the perfect song” for the vocalist, while Randy Jackson and Cowell both said they felt he was trying to be something he wasn’t.
“If there’s a song to go out on, that’s not a bad one,” Johns told Ryan Seacrest Thursday night as the crowd booed his abrupt departure.
Joining Johns in the bottom three was Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson. It was the first week country singer Kristy Lee Cook escaped the hot seat.
Last week, Johns nailed his performance of “It’s All Wrong, But It’s Alright” by Dolly Parton.
Thursday’s show also featured several celebrity appearances, as well as taped segments from each of this year’s presidential frontrunners Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. John McCain, and Sen. Barack Obama, encouraging viewer’s to donate to “Idol Gives Back.” Seacrest announced the cause had already raised $60 million.
I am sure we will be seeing more of Michael Johns in the future.

I have to agree, big shocker to me too, there was others that sung horribly compared to his performance. I think the show is rig and they have already decided who they want to win, regardless of the American votes that come in.
Yes, he was one of the best singers and performers on the show. American Idol is fake , not real and scamming, he did not deserve to get kicked off.
